What is bocconcini? The concept of the appetizer is known worldwide by many names – tapas, hors-d’œuvre, canapé, starter. In Italy we call them bocconcini or “little bites”. One-bite morsels packed with flavor. We prepare and sample over a dozen boccconcini. Built upon crostini. Slipped onto a skewer – spiedini. The combination of tastes – sweet, salty, savory – meant to be eaten as one mouthful where all flavours combine is the only way to eat a bocconcini. Let’s see what we’ve accomplished.
