Tuscany is no stranger to those who know Italy. But for those who are unfamiliar, here’s a little of what makes it so wonderful. To begin with, Tuscany is located in central Italy next to two lesser-known, though equally charming, regions of Umbria and Marche. It is known as the birthplace of the Italian renaissance, so art and architecture feature prominently here. Famous cities include Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, Pienza, and Montepulciano. There is food (pici pasta originates here), there is wine (Chianti, anyone?), there is Florentine steak, and olive oil – all in the Tuscan style!
